Seersucker Gin Cocktail Competition Results Announced

Seersucker Gin and Chilled magazine set out to find the most unique and best tasting cocktail recipe created by the Chilled 100 ambassadors in the Seersucker Southern Style Gin cocktail competition.

The orange and lemon zest of Seersucker Gin are finely balanced with just the right amount of juniper to create layers of sweet flavor. The citrus transitions into notes of honey and garden fresh mint that linger on the finish, leaving a wonderful sense of refreshment. This light, bright, refreshing taste profile is what makes Seersucker a Southern Style Gin.

All entries for the contest had to include at least 1 1/2 ounces of Seersucker Gin. One entry per Chilled 100 member was judged with the following criteria (a total of 100 points available):

  • Name: 15
  • Appearance/Presentation: 15
  • Creativity/Originality: 15
  • Ease of Execution: 15
  • Taste: 40

A panel of judges representing Seersucker Southern Style Gin reviewed and scored all entries. The judges chose six cocktails from all submitted entries. These six finalists’ cocktails were then mixed up and judged by a second panel of judges.

Two grand prize winners and four runners-up have been announced. The two winning bartenders will be awarded the grand prize: a featured spot in the upcoming Seersucker Southern Style Gin editorial within Chilled magazine’s February/March issue and a $250 cash prize.

The four runners up will receive $100 each. They will also be featured in the Chilled Magazine February/March issue cocktail recipe pages.
